Hertwig Limbach Bisque Doll Antique
Antique Hertwig Limbach Bisque Doll: This sweet little all bisque doll was made by The Hertwig Limbach Company, Germany, circa 1900 – 1910. She has blue eyes, molded blond hair with blue bows, and flat brown single strap shoes. She has jointed arms and legs, and wears a vintage dress with decorative lace embroidery. She stands 5 inches tall. This doll is in great condition. Cute little girl for your antique doll collection.
Her clothing is removable and I haven’t removed it, but I feel no evidence of any hidden damage. The stains under the arms of the dress were from a doll stand where she’s spent most of her long life, and that’s probably why she’s so well preserved otherwise. Her back is marked “Germany” along with some other inscriptions that are hard to make out. Most of the Limbach dolls I looked at are labeled on the back with P.15, and this one is not. Another difference you’ll see is the jointed arms and legs have no exposed pins. So this is the only one I’ve seen that doesn’t use exposed pins on the joints – which all work well and hold their position as you can see in the photos below.
